Bullet Proof Vests & Helmets
There is a special unit that is called in from the reserves in south of Israel that is not equipped with bullet proof vests. These vests are vital to give soldiers best odds for survival going into battle. We were able to source 1550 vests and 1700 helmets from Germany and Turkey. There are none left in Israel and these will be delivered by air this week.
Childcare
Funding activities and childcare for children across the country that have lost family members or have had their parents called into action, from the reserves. Children that have been displaced from their homes.
Bomb Shelters
Also in use at this time, is the 40 bomb shelters we have purchased over the past couple years. These have been set up in various cities in southern Israel and have all been used to protect Israeli lives over the past week as thousands of rockets have been fired at Israel’s civilian population.
Medical Supplies and First Aid Kits
Through our on the ground partnership with Vision for Israel we have provided hundreds of medical first aid kits to volunteers and first responders in southern Israel. Also purchased and delivered is hundreds of food packages and blankets.
Meals and Groceries
Chefs have flown in and we have helped set up commercial kitchens to create and serve hot meals. Thousands of meals, have been served daily to soldiers and hurting families.
Political Support
As the physical battle is being fought on the ground there is also a political battle going on around the world. Through our partnership with the Israel Allies Foundation, they will be mobilizing a massive campaign through 53 Caucuses around the world. This will keep political support coming to Israel so they have time to accomplish all that needs to be done.
Pray for clarity and wisdom for the leaders in power that will stand with Israel in support as Israel defends her borders.
Frontline Support
Provided breakfast and water to the communities in the south that needed supplies for the soldiers stationed there. We were also able to bring flashlights, batteries and a generator to help these small communities support the IDF on the front lines.Release The Kidnapped Hostages
Daystar joins the Voice for Freedom Coalition as a strategic partner with the primary focus of achieving the immediate and unconditional release of all Israeli hostages. Through our partnership we are launching a massive digital and print campaign across Europe with photos of the kidnapped victims like you see here. These pictures will displayed digitally on buses, subways, trains all around Europe including countries like Germany, France, Spain, Ireland and more.IDF Soldier Gear and Essentials
Through our relationships on the ground in Israel Daystar received a request to help 200 soldiers in dire need of some essential items. Daystar was able to swiftly provide; military raincoats, tactical socks, green military hats, headlamps, rubber slippers, underwear, coffee, protein bars, tactical gloves, sleeping bags, neck warmers and army shirts to 200 soldiers in need.Humanitarian Aid for Sick Children and Their Families
Daystar partnered with Larger Than Life, Israel’s leading Non-for Profit organization improving the welfare and health children battling with cancer and their families. Our partnership yielded aid to over 120 families. This aid tangibly displayed as we provided transportation for 70 children and their families to meet to doctors in person. With remote doctor sessions scheduled as follow ups. We provided 40 families with food baskets and financial support as basic necessities are becoming more difficult to source. We also provided 28 families with the funds needed to be treated by innovative medications. These medical solutions are not covered by the National Healthcare Insurance, and the families need our support to continue the treatments.Haifa Relief Project
With many reserve soldiers called up families in northern city of Haifa have felt great stress and financial uncertainty. Daystar partnered with trusted ministries and non profits in the city of Haifa to provide substantial relief and humanitarian outreach. This included purchasing of satellite phones to help communication during rocket attacks on critical Israeli infrastructure. This way the volunteers can maintain communication as well as soldiers communicating with their families. This northern city is home to many Russian and Ukrainian refugee families, many who have been forced to relocate due to ongoing persecution outside of Israel. Our partnership is providing these new immigrants with hot meals and in some instances shelter and care while they assimilate into Israeli life and culture.
Operation: Refuge
Due to this war, over 500,000 Israelis have now been evacuated from their homes and are currently living in temporary shelters across the country. Especially those who live alongside the border communities next to Gaza and Lebanon.
Many of these displaced families are gripped with fear and uncertainty, not knowing if and when they can return home — and some of them have no homes to return to. Daystar, in partnership with FIRM, has launched Operation: Refuge and is actively helping to host over 1,000 of these displaced Israelis in hotels and communities across the country.
Operation: Refuge provides displaced families with more than just their basic needs —food and shelter — but also creates a vibrant community with activities for children and adults alike to create some sense of normalcy in the midst of a frightening season.
“I was so grateful to get out of where we were… when we entered the hotel it was such a gift. So amazing. Just to have a safe place. It is the simplest thing but it means the world in this situation when you have nowhere else to go. So we felt very blessed beyond words. Thank you so much Daystar!”
— Jen
“Big, big thanks! Because we are in the hotel, they give us everything. Everything that we have asked for and things that we haven’t asked for they have given us at this hotel. We can’t say thank you enough to Daystar and Daystar Partners.”
— Avi
“It was amazing to come to this place. To see our children run here and be happy. This is, for us, the best thing to see our children smiling with all the things going on in our country. The people here are very nice and they think about us and what can make us happy. Thank you from me and my family and my friends. We don’t have enough words to say thank you! Thank you very much Daystar!”
— Talia
“For us, you are saving us… because we don’t know how many days and how many weeks we are going to be in this situation. I can’t imagine how everything happened so quickly for us to be taken care of.” Thank you so much Daystar and Operation Refuge.
— Roni
Night Vision Goggles
Daystar is funding 25 sets of IDF units. These are very critical since they are fighting in the Winter and the nights are a lot longer here. IDF has an advantage in the evening because we have more night vision goggles than Hamas so by funding these goggles, helps the units inside Gaza to be able to identify the enemy and be more successful in the night operations.Shower Units in Gaza
A lot of these soldier units are serving in Gaza where there are no showers or facilities. Many of them are spending days and weeks at a time with no hot showers and we are able to bless them. Up in the Northern Border of Mount Hermon, many of the people there are serving with no showers. One of our partners produces these trucks with hot water tanks and each water site provides water for about 500 soldiers per unit. Daystar is providing about 10 sites all over Gaza and in the North with Golan Heights.
Raincoats
We have had a lot of rainstorms and since we have many of the reserve soldiers who are serving that don't have the IDF-approved raincoats or wet suits to operate under harsh conditions especially up in the North where it's so cold. These raincoats not only keep the soldiers dry but also warm. Daystar is funding 300 of these raincoats up on the Northern Border.Sunday, October 8th
